Garden City, S.C. - Louise Hershey Ford, age 91, of Jensen's, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Conway Medical Center. Born in Barren Hill, she was a daughter of the late J. Witmer and Hannah Hershey. Mrs. Ford was retired from Penn State with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Pinochle Club; the St. Michael Widow's Group; and was a descendent of Milton Hershey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester W. Ford; a son, Neil Ford; and a daughter, Kimberly Ford. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Hendricks-Wilson and Jamaine Wilson, of Myrtle Beach; twin grandsons, Nick and Lee Armstrong; a granddaughter, Kelli Gelwicks; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Montasse Armstrong and Molly Concannon; and a sister, Marian McMahon. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2013, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 75, of Spotsylvania County, Va., died Friday, May 24, 2013, at home. Nancy was married to her husband, Albert Lee, for 52 years. She and her family resided in Boalsburg for 48 years, where she served Harris Township as tax collector for 15 years, as well as, serving on local community and political committees. She was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church in State College. Nancy and her husband moved to Virginia in 2010, to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Nancy was born in Bloomington, Ill.; received a BA in 1959, from Gustavus Adolphus College in St Peter, Minn., and a master's degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois in 1961. Nancy was an avid golfer and received national recognition when both she and her playing partner posted holes-in-one on the same hole in a national competition. She was also a recipient of numerous golfing and bowling awards. She loved sports in general and attended or ardently followed Penn State University and Pittsburgh sports team's events. In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lisa D'Albis and husband, Michael; her son, Albert Lynn and wife, Kendra; sisters, Susan Swanson, of Valparaiso, Ind. and Charlotte Christian, of Somonauk, Ill.; and her five granddaughters, Alexandra, Brianna, Olivia, Chenin, and Kate. A family memorial service will be held at a date to be arranged.

Daniel L. Jodon, 59, of Leesburg, Fla., passed away Friday, May 24, 2013. Born in Bellefonte, he moved to Leesburg in 1980 from State College. He was a former member of the 4-H Horse & Pony Club and Pine Hall Lutheran Church, both of State College. Daniel is survived by his mother and step-father, Dorothy and David Flood; fiancŽe, Mary Lou Pratt; three brothers, Lewis Edgar (Sharon) Jodon, Port Matilda, David R. Jodon, Thonotosassa, Fla., P. Earl (Christa) Jodon, State College; sister, Mary Kay (Ralph) Stennett, Tampa, Fla.; step-brother, David (Holly) Flood Jr., Canal Winchester, Ohio; two step-sisters, Elisabeth (David) Smith, Indiana, Pa., Victoria Locke (Rustin) Gallegher, Libertytown, Md.; and many nieces and nephews A memorial service was held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis, on Monday, May 27, 2013, at 10 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Humane Society of Lake County, 16435 McKinley Road, Umatilla, FL 32784. Rosalyn Jean (Hansen) Lannen, 79, of Lanse, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at her home. Born in Lanse on Nov. 22, 1933, she was a daughter of the late John and Rosa (Hall) Hansen. On July 11, 1953, in Clearfield, she married William Lannen, Jr., who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children, John (Marilyn) Lannen, Barbara (David) Shirokey, Sharleen (Brian) Homman, Ruth Ann (Gary) Sellers, Scott Lannen and Peggy Sue (Ken) Clark; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Nora Nesman, Venard Hansen, Raymond Hansen and Loretta (Hansen) Slother; two infant sons, Randy and Ronald; a son-in-law; and a nephew. She was the last of her generation. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grand- mother. Friends will be received on Saturday, May 25, 2013, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, 171 Deer Creek Road, Morrisdale. The funeral service follows at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Burial will be at Allport Cemetery. Marian E. Meyers, 83, of rural Bellefonte, passed away at home, May 21, 2013, peacefully into the Lords arms surrounded by her family at her side. Born on Sept. 16, 1929, in Kane, a daughter of the late William and Laura (Grifford) Aikey. On April 12, 1948, she married Robert McC. Meyers in Curtin. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2003. She was employed at Sherri Cup Factory, Inc., of New Britain, Conn. for 15 years, but was always and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker to her family. She is survived by three daughters, Connie Witherite (Reuben), of Pleasant Gap, Susan Dufour (Roger), of Terryville, Conn., Laura Dufour (Melvin), of Bellefonte; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with a brother, Clifford Aikey, of Bellefonte; and a sister, Lois Fisher, of Milesburg, In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Myers; and two grandchildren, Lisa Kay Witherite and Johnathan Cox; and brothers, Ronald Aikey and Earl Aikey. A public visitation will be held on May 24, 2013, from 10 a.m. till Noon, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte PA. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 12 p.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Steven Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township. Edith G. Mort, 81, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her residence. She was born Nov. 2, 1931, at Van Scoyoc Hollow, a daughter of Ralph Clayton and Amanda (Orwick) Friday Sr. She was married Jan. 3, 1958, at Winchester, Va., to Robert D. Mort, who died July 4, 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Sue Ellen Campbell (John), of Pennsylvania Furnace; a sister, Mary Fink, of Tyrone; sisters-in-law, Barbara Friday, of Tyrone and Kate Orwick, of Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, William R. Friday, Ralph C. Friday Jr., Raymond Orwick; and a sister, Marie Friday. She had attended the Tyrone Schools, was a homemaker, loved gardening and flowers and cooking for her nephew, Don. Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, Friday, May 24, 2013, from 6-8 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Carl A. Schmidt officiating. Interment will be at Baughman Cemetery.

Geraldine R. "Gerry" Pezalski, 91, formerly of Philipsburg, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Fairways of Brookline in State College, where she had resided for the past two years. Born on Sept. 18, 1921, in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Pasqualina (Alberalla) Ruggiero, and the youngest of ten children. Gerry was a 1940 graduate of the Philipsburg High School. Upon her graduation she accepted a secretarial position at the Wolf Furniture Store in Philipsburg and worked there for six years. On Sept. 21, 1946, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, she married Raymond H. Pezalski Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2001. They moved to Niagara Falls until 1948, then returned to their hometown and raised their family. In 1964, Gerry accepted a receptionist position at Mid-State Bank where her friendly smile welcomed customers until her retirement in 1986. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Her laughter, kindness and generous heart are memories her family and friends will always cherish. Gerry loved to cook and always made more than enough food when entertaining family and friends. Her rice pudding was revered by everyone. She enjoyed card games and shopping sprees with her friends, and spending time with her family. She was also an avid fan of Penn State football. She was a lifelong member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg and the Altar and Rosary Society. Geraldine is survived by a son, Raymond H. Pezalski and his wife, Cynthia, of Boalsburg; a daughter, Linda K. Stevens and her husband, John, of Stormstown; two sisters, Anna and Connie Ruggiero, of Philipsburg; five grandchildren, Carrie Lamb and her husband, Dr. Paul Lamb, of Philipsburg, Dr. Tyler Pezalski and his wife, Jocelyn, of Southern Pines, N.C., Caitlin Dare and her husband, Eric, of State College, Bret Stevens, of Occoquan, Va., Matt Stevens and his wife, Jessica, of Langhorne, Pa.; ten great grandchildren; one sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twin infant great granddaughters; six brothers; and one sister. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 1, 2013, 1 p.m., at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg, with the Rev. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant. Burial will be at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Philipsburg. Friends will be received on Friday, May 31, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg. The rosary will be recited on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Gerry may be sent to Home Nursing Agency Hospice Foundation, 201 Chestnut Ave., PO Box 352, Altoona, PA 16603 or to the Brookline Employees Fund, 1950 Cliffside Drive, State College, PA 16801. Gerald R. "Gerry" Smith, 79, of Port Matilda, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. Born on June 17, 1933, in State College, he was the son of the late Russell and Hazel (Mardis) Smith. He was a 1951 graduate of the State College Area High School. Before retiring several years ago, Gerry worked at Cerro Copper and Brass for 41 years, most recently as a production scheduler. Prior to employment at Cerro, Gerry served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, stationed in Germany for the major part of his tour of duty. He attended the Methodist Church in Port Matilda. Also, he was a lifetime member of the Tyrone Elks, Lodge 212, and an Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Bald Eagle Lodge, #51. He belonged to the Port Matilda American Legion and the Walnut Grove Hunting Camp, where for many years he was responsible for camp entertainment. Gerry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He took great pride in maintaining a well-kept lawn at his home and in growing a small garden. Gerry was married on March 3, 1956, to Beverly Ann Robinson. In addition to his wife Beverly, he is survived by his sister, Margaret "Peg" Berger, of Audubon, Pa.; two brothers, Charles (Helen) Smith, of State College and Allan (Patricia) Smith, of Hendersonville, N.C. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Smith, of Port Matilda and by his son, Michael (Lisa) Smith, of Snow Shoe. Additionally, he is survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Thomas Berger. A brief Memorial Service was held at the Wetzler Funeral Home on May 6, 2013, for family and friends. Joseph A. Spicer, 79, of Milroy, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Feb. 1, 1934, in Buffalo Run, he was the son of Arthur Spicer and Ruth (Biddle) Spicer. He was married to Mildred E. (Snare) Spicer on March 18, 1963. Surviving are his children, Rose M. Morrison and husband, Michael, of Reedsville, and Tina M. Yohe and husband, Jack, of Troutville; brothers and sisters, Betty Tyson, of Bellefonte, Elma Reese, of Centre Hall, Ada Shaffer, of Lock Haven, Dorothy Holmes, of Utah, Virginia Mazolla, of Centre Hall, James Spicer, of Centre Hall, Roy Spicer, of Centre Hall, Ronald Spicer, of Centre Hall, and Arthur Spicer, of Lewistown; two grandchildren, Andrew Carl and Joshua Allen; two step-grandchildren, Christina Lee and Ross Thomas; and two step-great-grandchildren, Ian and Ty. He was preceded in death by siblings Edna Thompson, Earl Spicer and Pearl Corman. He had worked at Aumiller's Auto Wreckers for 13 years and then owned and operated Joe's Body Shop for 30 years. He was a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed bowling. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Centre County Memorial Park, State College, with the Rev. Rodney Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Arrangements by Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville.

James Robert "Bob" Wagner, 83, of Milroy, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville. Born July 10, 1929, in Schrader, he was the son of James Roland Wagner and Gladys (Reed) (Wagner) Chamberlain. He was married to Leona M. (Treaster) Wagner on Oct. 25, 1947. Along with is wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah K. Winter, of Sanford, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Strange, of Lewistown; a brother, Ralph Wagner, of Lewistown; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Wagner, and a stepdaughter, Diane (Bonson) Derr. He retired from New Cumberland Army Depot. He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired with the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion, Wormleysburg. There will be public viewing. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown, with the Rev. Gerald Peachey officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Retirement Community, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.
